ERICA MIRICH
principal & founder

Erica is a passionate coach and consultant committed to helping people and organizations create a better life, community, and world. Her expertise in strategic communications, storytelling, and organizational strategy and management enables her to provide inventive, strategic support, guidance, and direction to clients through personal and professional leadership.
Erica has spent more than 25 years working with institutions of all sizes to instill confidence and build the systems needed for inspired and meaningful community impact. Her true passion is encouraging organizations to “do well by doing good,” guiding them in developing strategies and policies that benefit their bottom lines, the people they serve, and the community at large.
Her team at PIVOT works with organizations to build internal capacity through operational and inspirational fundraising campaigns, Board development, strategic planning, and visionary organizational branding and messaging. She believes that data drives social impact and progress, and she conducts organizational audits to determine how benchmarking and metrics tracking can improve institutional outcomes.
Her key accomplishments include providing thought leadership and boots-on-the-ground support to organizations such as Microsoft’s Give Back Challenge, the USDA’s Institute for Food and Agriculture, the national Land-Grant University system’s agricultural research brand—agInnovation, the Nevada Museum of Natural History, Hope Means Nevada, the League to Save Lake Tahoe, Truckee Meadows Tomorrow, Providence High School, Sage Ridge School, and Stevenson School, among others.
Erica is a Board member of the Nevada Women’s Fund, an organization dedicated to empowering women to improve their lives and those of their families. She is also past president of the Association of Fundraising Professionals’ Monterey Bay Chapter.
She has a master’s degree from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan. Based in Reno, NV, she enjoys adventuring around Reno-Tahoe with her husband and boys, watching soccer, skiing, and hiking with her canine bestie, Bear.
SEAN MARTIN
cto/coo/caio
Sean is an engineer's engineer who long ago stopped writing code full-time and started doing something harder: helping organizations figure out what they actually need from their technology, and then building it in a way that lasts.
With more than 15 years leading engineering organizations across a deliberately wide range of industries, Sean has developed an instinct for the moment when a growing organization's tools stop serving its mission and start working against it. That problem, he'll tell you, looks remarkably similar whether you're running a network security company, an education benefits platform, or a social impact consultancy. The systems are different. The frustration is the same.
At PIVOT, Sean leads the Digital Foundations practice, bringing the same rigor he's applied to enterprise platforms and distributed engineering teams to the operational and data challenges that quietly drain capacity from mission-driven organizations. He believes that the right technology, configured thoughtfully and explained in plain language, is one of the highest-leverage investments a small organization can make. And that the wrong technology, poorly implemented and left without support, is one of the most demoralizing.
He holds an MS in Computer Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno. Outside of work, he is a PSIA-certified ski instructor and an avid mountain biker.
